Win a copy of Master Chief Collection

With the gaming season in full swing we were lucky enough to get a MCC digital code (Canada Only, sorry folks!) and we decided that we better make an awesome contest for it. Here is what you have to do: Show us why you love Halo – pictures, art, poems, short stories, etc. Then post it below in the comments. You have to Monday, November 17th by 10pm EST to submit your entries. This way we give you enough time to download it and play with us on our November 18th Playdate.

Good Luck!

    Forever rocking in the sky,
    Masterchief is our guy,
    Battling against all odds,
His magesty not to be contested,
With rifles pressed to his chest,
He rocks out and we are blessed,
    Behold his magesty,
    One round at a time,
As his sworn enemies hit the ground,
    Bodies and blood everywhere,
    All because Master chief cares.

    Love the Masterchief!

The warthog engine howls with anticipation, gearing up and down, traversing each hill, each mound and spins right rought. Shells hit the deck, scattering all around as the covenant bodies lay cold, and lifeless in its wake. The marines stare into the distance, wary, as masterchief unloads round after round into his foes, plasma grenades explode nearby, shaking the warthog, but not masterchiefs resolve.

He is one, he is solitude, he is earths last hope, the defender of human life, and will not fail. Each blast shaking the warthog more, and more, flipping it over, the marines lay dead, and the masterchief clambers back to his feet.

If he could wipe the sweat from his brow, he would. But theres no time for that, standing strong, this spartan, this, hero of man, stands tall on the flipped over warthot, and takes up his assault rifle, taking sight at the remaining covenant forces. One round, two round, three round, bodies dropping, when Cortana’s voice is heard.

Chief, we found the Pillar of Autumn; we gotta get there quick.

Spinning around, the masterchief shoots down the final covenant foe, flips the warthog, and starts his most important journey, to save Keyes, and the fate of the Pillar of Autumn.

I don’t have a good story, but I have a personal story of the connection to the masterchief and halo.

Halo: Combat Evolved was the first FPS shooter I ever played on a console. It changed the whole way I looked at a FPS, before hand they weren’t really stories, they were just gut wrenching battles to survive, halo introduced me to the idea that a FPS could be more. But I digress.

Ever since I have tried to play all of the Halo games, as they were the benchmark for me as to what I considered to be a good franchise, not to mention an amazing series.

Of course to keep in the spirits of this competition, I will get back to the story of me, and not my feelings.

I lost days in the original Halo, hell, weeks, months, not quite years, but maybe for the franchise. Halo was in my dreams, I rocked a Guilty Spark T-Shirt for ages, as its colours faded, my spirits did not, I continued to enjoy and love all that Halo brought forward.

Soon I married, had a son, and I had to put away Halo, it had become a sin in my household to play video games, but more so, Halo. My wife hated all things video games, and my happy life took a downward spiral. Not because of the videos games, but other mitigating factors.

Soon I found myself divorced, and that old Xbox of mine would soon be powered up again, and the MasterChief would begin to live again. My spirits rose, and I moved on, I discovered the 360, and began playing the new Halo games, the Master Chief never looked so good. Or felt so good. It was pure bliss to be playing again.

Since then, I have played all the Halo games except Halo 4, it just wasn’t in the stars for me to play at the time, work reasons. But my life changed for the better. I re-married, had another son, and this time, things are different. Sure my wife doesn’t think too highly of Video Games, but she also likes the MasterChief and wants to play the MCC Collection with me. Which to me, would be pretty friggen cool.

Anyways, that is my personal story, albeit the real nasty parts taken out, the moral of the story is, the MasterChief has always been there for me, and has helped me through the dark times, and I would love to keep him in my life, standing watch over the happiness I now have with my amazing wife.
